Banded For Life

So I'm coming up on my 3 yr anniversary of my lapband surgery... Although I have been terrible at keeping up my blog... I managed to loose over 60 lbs! I currently have 23 lbs to my first BIG weight lose goal... and I'm very excited. I did get my band filled again on Valentine's Day. I was at 5cc in a 10cc band. My Dr's PA thought I was close to my "limit" on the band so she injected 1 cc.... after a night of complete misery I headed back to the Dr and had .5 pulled back out. After a week of healing ..I feel great and have good resistance in the band...although I think I might be able to do another .1 cc I think I'll leave it be. It's been almost 2 weeks since my fill and I'm down 6 lbs. I know I can do better and need to return to the gym. In October 2011 I went on Clomid (fertility drug) and developed OHSS (Ovarian Hypersensitivity Syndrome). My feet were 4 times bigger than normal and I thought I was going to die. It took several months to get feeling better. So now that Spring is on the way.. I hope to get out and start enjoying life again. I'm hoping with this weight lose my body will naturally start Ovulating again so that my hubby and I can fulfill our dream of growing our family.

Well on Tuesday March 31st I went in for my surgery. The surgery went off without a hitch and I was in recovery before I knew it :)

The hospital stay was atrocious but I survived!! BARELY!

Home now and recovering well..... with a few mishaps .... like over eating and suffering and some bowel issues.... It's all about trial and error.

Well next week I begin all the tests and meetings for my surgery.

On the 9th I have lab tests and a sonogram to make sure there are not any stones in my gallbladder or any other problems. Then a blood work lab to check other levels...

On the 10th I meet with the Dietitian about my 2 week liquid diet....and pay my Hospital Co-Pay.

Hopefully will have a yes or no from UHC on my claim about the out of network surgeons fees.

Ok all... My surgery date is set for 4 weeks from today!! WOW :) I signed papers today and made more appts for the finalizing of different aspects of the process with different Dr's,Dietitians, and the Hospital. There is a lot of work to do in the 4 weeks and in te middle of that I'm planning a trip to Disneyland for my Birthday. Phew!

Please keep me in your prayers.. I'm still waiting to see if the insurance will cover my Out of Network Surgeons fees ... (fingers crossed)

Well everyone.. I'm done with all the head exams and other evaluations...I'm waiting for insurance approval.

I have seen my new Dr. through the new insurance and I'm getting some blood work done and a abdomen ultrasound.

Getting closer to making that Surgery Date!!!

Dr Irani's Office called this morning and had openings for tomorrow morning!! I'm going in for first consult at 10:15 am :)
